Supported and Assisted Living As a person living with a brain injury ages they will develop additional needs for care and supervision. The onset of the aging process may begin to occur as the person approaches the 15-20 year post injury mark. There may also be a loss of previously regained functional abilities and capacities, which will require more assistance and support from trained staff members. NRI has responded to the unique needs of people who are living with the effects of a brain injury through the development of our community-based Supported and Assisted Living program. Based in a comfortable duplex home in midtown Tulsa, the program offers accessible accommodations with around-the-clock staffing. Each resident has a physician with brain injury experience assigned to his or her care. Specific rehabilitation and counseling supports can be provided through the NRI program and the Residence Manager/Nurse provides coordination of healthcare activities. Program services and staffing are developed for each individual. The NRI Supported and Assisted Living programs are designed to make a difference for the person living with a brain injury through the provision of a quality life activities program with professional direction and supports.
