Progesterone Enters Phase III
The Synapse study of Progesterone has entered into Phase III trials in the United States and China. Several years ago we blogged here in NeuroNotes about the research conducted by Donald Stein, PhD and his associates at Emory University to use this commonly occurring hormone to reduce the effects of traumatic brain injury. With the move into the Phase III aspect of the study, the inclusion of progesterone in the trauma medicine arsenal is becoming more of a reality. We should start seeing interim results in 2013.
