Posting from Indiana

Work finds me in Indianapolis today. Yesterday I had a chance to visit with Robbie Schmidt, another Brain Injury Case Manager. She gave me a tour of Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, an acute rehab that has twenty-five beds dedicated to brain injury.

While it’s a wonderful facility, we both lamented the fact that 25 beds are hardly enough to accomodate Indiana’s population. Indianapolis, it turns out, is the 12th largest city in the nation.

I’m in the area to meet and evaluate two individuals with TBI, so while I was here, I decided to check out Indiana University–the campus popularized in the film Breaking Away. It’s a beautiful school, as you can see below:

As conference season begins to wind up, the next month will bring me to Iowa, New Mexico, and Denver. If you’re attending either the SW Conference for Disabilities in Albuquerque or NASHIA’s annual conference in Denver, be sure to drop by our table and say hello.
