What family members face when a loved one has a brain injury

Medicaid AssistanceCarolyn Gan, from Toronto, is an accomplished family therapist and expert in helping people with brain injuries and their families pick up the pieces of their lives. In a short video available on BrainLine.org and YouTube, Ms. Gan talks to families about personality and behavior changes experienced by the person and the effects of what she calls “ambiguous loss” on family members who struggle with the changes in a person they know intimately. I have always appreciated the depth of Carolyn Gan’s understanding of the issues and her ability to speak clearly to a sometimes confusing set of problems.
