George Visger & Friends Arrange a Benefit
Last week we posted a blog about Dondre Ransom, a former Marine, father of two and a semi-pro football player who sustained a concussion which has left him blind and hooked to a ventilator. Dondre’s wife is receiving treatment for her military-related TBI in Atlanta. Several of our NeuroNotes readers have asked about what they could do to help Dondre and George Visger has provided us with that information for readers who want to make a tax deductible contribution . George has also organized an event to benefit Dondre. “Draft Day” will occur on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Masonic Temple in Sacramento, California.
Its great to see how retired pro-football players, like George Visger, are rallying to help Dondre. I would like to know that the NFL is doing the right thing for retired players like George and his colleagues who stand to get nothing in the NFL Brain Injury settlement. Here these guys are giving of their time and energies to help Dondre when their needs are being neglected by the NFL, one of the wealthiest not-for-profit organizations in America. Something just isn’t right!
