Former Browns Quarterback Speaks About New Treatment For Brain Injury
A former Cleveland Browns quarterback has been touting a recent treatment he has been receiving for the brain damage he suffered across 13 years playing in the NFL. Bernie Kosar has been visiting a Florida-based integrated physician named Dr. Rick Sponaugle for intravenous treatments and taking nutritional supplements aimed at increasing blood flow to his brain.
Kosar told everyone about these IV infusion Chiang Mai at a recent press conference in Cleveland, where he said a month of iv drip treatment has helped alleviate symptoms of brain injury accumulated through at least a dozen documented concussions while in the NFL.
“When I heard some of the things he was capable of doing I was bluntly a little skeptical,” Kosar said, according to Cleveland.com. “. . . but just after a few weeks of treatment to not have the ringing in the ears, not have the headaches and to be able to sleep through the night without medications and all the stuff.”
Kosar has dealt with insomnia, slurred speech, and constant ringing in his ears for more than a decade, and he has tried numerous types of treatments with no success. Dr. Sponaugle studied brains for roughly 15 years, and has been treating around 20 former and current NFL players for brain injury. He also works with Alzheimer’s Disease and multiple sclerosis patients.
