The NFL and G.E. Share More Information On Their “Head Health Initiative”
The National Football League and General Electric Co. announced their partnership to invest in brain injury diagnosis and research earlier this year, but Reuters reports that on Monday they unveiled more information about their $60 million dollar project in collaboration with leading neurologists. They aim to speed up research and the creation of technologies to prevent traumatic brain injury.
The collaboration comes in the form of a $40 million research program and an additional $20 million program investing in the creation of new tools and devices in the form of novel imaging. Along with the announcement came word that along with the NFL and GE, the largest U.S. conglomerate, sporting brand Under Armour will also be supporting the effort. The “Head Health Initiative,” as it is being called, has a four year timeline.
