The League of Denial title can extend to benefits for ex-players

The NFL settlement of $765 million sound good on the surface. But, if we consider that there may be over 20,000 former players involved the amount of money available per person will fall far short of what is a realistic cost associated the lifetime, long-term effects of brain injury. The NFL is a behemoth organization with deep pockets, so the settlement is really a drop in the bucket. Yet, for the players facing a lifetime of problems from their brain injuries, they have been abandoned by the NFL with a cursory payout.

Its America’s #1 sport and we know that there are risks for players which run deep. This is a troubling situation which we are seeing.
