TBI Patient Asks For Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment For Christmas
While most Christmas lists across the country feature materialistic goods like iPads and televisions, one New Hampshire woman is asking for something much more meaningful.
Myla Gott, a 22 year-old woman from North Hampton, NH suffered a diffuse axonal brain injury during a car crash in 2009, and she has been fighting back from TBI since then. This year, she has been asking for others to help her begin another round of hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
The treatments are extraordinarilly expensive, but Gott’s first sessions have contributed to significant improvements in her condition, and there is research showing they have the potential to treat many different types of brain injuries.
Bill Gott, Myla’s father says “Myla wants that more then [sic] anything this Christmas.” But the family can’t afford the costly treatments and airfare to travel to the proper facility. Her first round of treatment was only possible thanks to donations from local businesses and supporters.
If you would like to contribute, you can check out the Gott’s Facebook page, or you can find out more about them from the Hampton-North Hampton Patch.
