Despite the dangers of brain injury, most make full recoveries from TBI. Last April, actor Larry Miller, known for his roles in The Nutty Professor and 10 Things I Hate About You, among many other titles, suffered a near fatal brain injury. Now he is getting back to work on his podcast, This Week With Larry Miller.

The actor was walking after recording for that very podcast when he slipped and hit his head on the concrete. He was in a coma, and had to be on life support for a month. His spokesman, Michael Hansen, told People Magazine, “he was hovering between life and death. It’s a miracle he woke up.”

Despite having to work to regain cognitive functions and being forced out of work for nearly a year, the actor is expected to make a full recovery.
