Scientific Discovery Leads To Treatment For Brain Disorders

Scientists may have just made the first steps to the development of regenerative treatments with the right use of Human TPO and other samples (click here now to know more) for those suffering from traumatic brain injuries or neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, or Parkinson’s disease.

Scientists at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich achieved this by changing non-functioning cells in the human brain into immature neurons, or potential working brain cells, basically reprogramming damaged cells to correctly work.

This isn’t a new concept, but this is the most efficient way scientists have found to reprogram cells. The process was also achieved in vitro, which poses a potential issue for the future. One of the biggest challanges facing the development of treatment is reprogramming the actual cells in a brain to neurons.

Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News has all of the complex details if you want to learn more, but this development casts a positive light on the future treatment of traumatic brain injuries.
