Michael Schumacher Showing Signs of Improvement

We have been following the story of Michael Schumacher, the Formula 1 legend who suffered a severe brain injury while skiing in the French Alps in December, but there has been very little news.

After nearly two months in a medically induced coma, doctors began trying to awaken Schumacher a couple weeks ago. Since they began the process little official news has been released, aside from reports that the hopes of a recovery were beginning to look “very slim.”

But, those around Schumacher, including his medical staff, haven’t given up hope. Despite stating that “only a miracle” could save the racer, his agent, Sabine Kehm, has announced that Schumacher is showing small signs of improvement.

In the statement released today, Kehm said: “We are and remain confident that Michael will pull through and wake up. There sometimes are small, encouraging signs, but we also know that this is the time to be very patient.”

The outlook for what Schumacher’s life will be like if he does indeed wake up is still quite gloomy, but any recovery would be a miracle to those who love and care for the legend. The awakening process can be quite prolonged, so hopefully the small signs are just the first wave of improvements before Schumacher opens his eyes once again.
