National Brain Injury Awareness Month – Resources For the Rest of the Year

Today marks the last day of the annual National Brain Injury Awareness Month, but that doesn’t mean we should forget about the injury sustained by an estimated 1.7 million children in the United States alone each year. Traumatic brain injury shouldn’t be thought of as a military or NFL injury. TBI affects more people who trip and suffer common falls than professional athletes and veterans.

While those two demographics are at heightened risk for brain injuries, the majority of concussions and traumatic brain injuries each year come from falls, car wrecks, and bicycle accidents. They can affect anyone at anytime and you should be prepared to know what to do if you or someone you know is showing the tell-tale signs of a brain injury.

To help close out the month of heightened awareness efforts for TBI, we thought we would share the most comprehensive list of resources for brain injuries available. The National Child Traumatic Stress Network has a huge variety of resources for families, medical professionals, and military families, so you should be able to find help no matter what your situation is.

If you can’t find the help or information you need, you can also always contact us. We are happy to help you in any way you need.
